Choosing and arranging health insurance for a residence permit
- A policy accepted by the consulate and Extranjería
- No co-payments or waiting periods, stated in the certificate itself
- DKV, Sanitas, AXA: the insurer is checked in the DGSFP register
- A price for your age and province, not a “from €26”
- Choosing and arranging the policy is free: you pay only the insurer
Why people arrange their policy through us
We calculate the premium from all applicants' dates of birth and the postcode of your future address, so you see the same amount Extranjería will see.
We make sure the wording sin copagos ni carencias appears in the certificate itself, not in an agent's verbal promise.
We compare DKV, Sanitas and AXA, including AXA Optima, and check the insurer in the DGSFP register before payment.

How it works
We confirm your residence permit route, the applicants' ages, family members, the region where you will live and the planned submission date. Five minutes of messaging.
We compare the DKV, Sanitas and AXA ranges by the total annual premium for each applicant, not by the “from … €/month” price on the insurer's home page. We shortlist options with no co-payments and no waiting periods.
We agree an exención de carencias (waiver of waiting periods) with the insurer and have it recorded in the documents. An agent's verbal promise is not enough at submission.
We fill in the application, check the spelling of names in Latin script and the passport numbers, and pay for the policy for the full year.
We obtain the certificate in the required form and check it line by line before passing it to you. If the wording is wrong, we have the insurer reissue it.
Questions and answers
Yes, buying it takes twenty minutes. The difficulty lies elsewhere: finding out whether the chosen product's waiting periods can be removed, and getting a certificate with the right wording rather than a standard letter confirming that a contract exists.
No. It is designed for trips of up to 90 days and covers emergency care. Residence requires a policy from a Spanish insurer with outpatient care, no co-payments and no waiting periods.
There is no single price: the premium is calculated from the insured person's age and the postcode of the address, and it is recalculated every year. For an adult it ranges from €620 a year in an inexpensive region such as Asturias to €1,074 in Barcelona at the age of forty, and noticeably more after sixty. A full price list by year of birth and three regions is in the article on insurance for a residence permit. Our work is free: we do not charge for choosing, arranging or supporting the policy, you pay only the insurance company.
You will receive a request for documents with a short deadline to fix it, which in practice means a lost month. Our job is to make sure this does not happen: we check the insurer and the wording before submission, not after.
Yes. Policies are individual, so we calculate for each insured person and make sure everyone, including children, is listed in the contract.
Once you are registered, the requirement is met by public healthcare cover. But when you first apply from abroad you are not registered yet, so a private policy is almost always needed.
Mainly DKV, Sanitas and AXA, across the whole range including broker terms: for example, AXA Optima, which has no waiting periods to begin with. Policies from ADESLAS, ASISA and most other companies come with carencia (waiting periods) and are generally not suitable for a residence permit.
